Do GHS labels leave room for interpretation? They shouldn't - at all.
Loads of companies out there still decide upon GHS labelling using the old method of buying pre-printed red diamond stock and then using a plain old thermal transfer printer to put the labels together. The required hazard pictograms get printed in black, and often the unused red diamonds get covered up with a black ink overprint. Even though thats a pretty common practice its not always the best idea. According to the ECHA Guidance on Labelling and Packaging, having empty boxes on your label can confuse people because it looks like a hazard pictogram got accidentally left off. So the […]…continue

At Microplex, great printing solutions start with understanding the application.
We recently welcomed Matthew Armstrong, our new Sales Engineer for North and South America, to our headquarters in Germany for an intensive application training program. The goal was not simply to learn our products, but to gain a deep understanding of the challenges our customers face in logistics, manufacturing, warehousing, automotive production, and other industrial environments. From printer integration and automation interfaces to emulations, mobile printing, and application-specific solutions, Matthew received hands-on training across the entire Microplex portfolio. This knowledge enables him to support customers in selecting the right printing technology for their processes — helping them improve efficiency, simplify […]…continue

Flexible operator panel positioning for maximum integration
What if the best position for the operator panel is not where the manufacturer decided it should be? In industrial environments, printers are rarely installed in ideal conditions. They are integrated into: conveyor systems packaging lines logistics workstations automated production processes That’s why the Microplex SOLID 60A3 allows the operator panel to be mounted in different positions depending on the installation layout and operator requirements. (A special Operator Panel Relocation Kit is available.) The panel can be installed at the front right side or at the rear left side of the printer, allowing optimal accessibility based on: printer orientation document […]…continue

When Uptime Matters, Expertise Makes the Difference
In high-performance logistics environments, printing is not just a peripheral — it’s a critical part of the process. When invoices and delivery notes are printed inline within picking systems, every second counts. That’s why our UK partner Precision Peripherals Ltd — responsible for supporting large distribution and shipping centers with business-critical printing applications, particularly based on the SOLID 60A3 — recently invested in advanced technical training at the Microplex headquarters. A special thanks to Mr. Jack Paul, who successfully completed intensive service training on the SOLID 60A3. Faster Shipping Logistics Without Changing Applications for fully automated shippment processes and manual packing stations
What keeps high-volume logistics moving? Modern fulfillment centers process thousands of orders within minutes. Automation handles storage, picking and packing — but one element connects the digital workflow with the physical shipment: Reliable document and label printing. Shipping labels, packing lists and routing documents must be printed instantly and without interruption. If printing slows down, the entire shipping process slows down. In high-throughput logistics environments, every second counts — and every printed document keeps the process moving. The Microplex solution: Thanks to multi-emulation, Microplex printers can process the printer languages of thermal, matrix and laser print technologies — allowing a […]…continue

When Printing Becomes a Control Function – and Increases Throughput
In modern shipping logistics, the printer is no longer just an output device. It is a synchronization point within the automation chain — and a direct lever for higher throughput. At automated packing and conveyor stations, timing defines performance. If documents are printed too early, too late, or without process synchronization, buffers build up. Lines slow down. Manual intervention increases. This is where the Microplex SOLID 60A3 makes the difference. Videos GPIO – Direct Machine Communication The optional GPIO interface enables real-time signal exchange with conveyor systems and PLC-controlled environments: Print release triggered by the line Ready/Busy/Error signals fed back […]…continue
