Built for Automotive. Ready for Legacy and Future Systems.
Keep Your Applications. Replace Your Printer.
Automotive production environments rarely rely on a single printer language. Over the years, production lines have grown, suppliers have changed, and new applications have been added – resulting in a mix of PCL5, IGP, Labelpoint, line printer languages, and other legacy data streams that must continue to run reliably in validated production processes.
Replacing a printer should never require changing proven applications. The Microplex SOLID 52A4 was designed for exactly these environments.
- Multi-Emulation Support
Use multiple printer languages on a single device and select the required emulation individually for each print job via a command included in the print data.

- Interface-Based Emulation Selection
Use different printer emulations on individual interfaces by configuring the corresponding interface macros in advance. The appropriate emulation is then selected automatically for the respective print job based on the receiving interface.
- 40+ printer emulations, including PCL5, IGP, Labelpoint, ZPL, IPDS, and numerous line printer languages, enabling seamless replacement of legacy printer fleets.
- IEEE 802.1X network authentication for secure integration into modern, security-conscious manufacturing networks.
- PJL support for PCL5 and IGP Emulation
Microplex printers support PJL in combination with both PCL5 and IGP — enabling print job control and configuration directly from the existing data stream.
The benefit: greater compatibility with established host and production systems, easier printer replacement by keeping the legacy data unchanged.
For manufacturers still operating SOLID 40 or logiJET 40 printers, the SOLID 52A4 is the ideal replacement path. With maintenance kits for these legacy systems no longer available, it provides a future-proof replacement while allowing validated applications, PLCs, and production workflows to continue unchanged.
- Keep your applications.
- Keep your production processes.
- Simply replace the printer.
